Effects on the economy trend of big fat weddings

In the era of unstable relationships growing disease of Big Fat Weddings

The growing trend of big fat weddings in India can have both positive and negative effects on the economy. On the positive side, big weddings can create a lot of economic activity, including the sale of wedding-related goods and services such as clothing, jewelry, catering, venue rentals, and transportation.

This can lead to increased employment opportunities and income for many people working in these industries.

However, on the negative side, big weddings can also lead to a significant drain on resources, including food, water, and energy. This can lead to a strain on the environment and infrastructure, which can have long-term economic and social consequences. Additionally, the money spent on extravagant weddings could be used for more productive purposes, such as investments in education, healthcare, or entrepreneurship.

Furthermore, the emphasis on lavish spending on weddings can also create a culture of debt and financial stress for families who feel pressured to keep up with the trend. This can lead to a cycle of debt and poverty, which can have long-term negative effects on the economy and society as a whole. According to a survey, the GDP of many countries is not as much as is being spent on weddings in India throughout the year.

Marriage used to be a ritual in Sanatan, which has now become an event. Earlier, marriage ceremony meant that the sacred law and law used to make two people feel connected, the customs and rituals used to identify both the parties, negation also used to be respected. Earlier turmeric and henna used to be done inside the house, no one even knew. Earlier, the marriages which used to take place in the mandap without any frills, were also marriages and then the married life was much happier than this. But society and social media have such a ghost of appearances that no one has any idea what to do or not?

People have started showing off excessively in order to show that they are more modern and richer than each other. A 48 kg daughter would not find a 50 kg lehenga heavy. Kilos of makeup pale in comparison to a good parenting lesson. Hours of photo shoot on every event does not tire us but as soon as the wedding ceremony starts Pandit ji hurry up, what a long worship recitation, what a tiring system it is" don't even feel ashamed to say. Indeed, the marriages of today are astonishing. The funny thing is that it is becoming a social compulsion. Extravagance in weddings is slowly reaching its peak in North India.

Earlier, weddings and garlands were all done in the mandap. Then the cost of the stage separately increased, now the stage and cost of turmeric and mehndi have also increased. Pre wedding photoshoot, destination wedding, reception, now even a grand stage of engagement is getting ready. Everyone is fond of watching TV serials. Earlier children used to sit in turmeric wearing old clothes, now turmeric clothes come for five to ten thousand.

Prewedding shoot, first copy designer lehenga, theme party for haldi/mehandi, ladies sangeet party, bachelor's party, all this is done by ladki wala naak uchi karne ke liye karwata hai. If the girl's father reduces the expenditure, then his daughter says that the marriage will happen only once and the same is the case with the boys.

The interesting thing is that sons and daughters themselves want so much filmy frills, whether it is about pre-wedding shoots or women's music, there is no control anywhere. Instead of securing the future of the girl child, they spend money like water. Now the boys and girls themselves get the parents to spend. In marriages, the expenses of the boys are almost as much as that of the girls. Now as much as the girl's need for control, the boy's also needs it. Both are drinking ghee by taking loans to keep their nose high.

Once upon a time, all these were the tricks of the rich, but we have seen that now the middle class and lower middle class people have also started following it. The sweetness in the relationship ended and all these gimmicks started. In the affair of one strong, the other weak is also getting entangled.

A few years ago, after marriage, the craze of grand reception increased rapidly. Gradually, the competition to look bigger than each other is becoming a social compulsion. In all this, the middle class families are getting into trouble that if they do not do so, they may become an object of ridicule in the society. Social media and wedding business companies are playing a major role in this. The fear of what people will say/think if this is not done is making them do all this. No one asks that father or brother who earns hard work throughout his life so that the family can be happy. He also does all this extravagance out of fear that no one should ask him in his old age what you have done for us. There is a great need to reduce this in the society which is wasted in appearances, otherwise the burden of unrestrained money will end the increasing Vedic matrimonial rituals.

In conclusion, while big fat weddings can provide a boost to the economy in the short term, they can also have long-term negative consequences. It is important for individuals and society as a whole to balance the desire for celebration and tradition with responsible and sustainable consumption.
